Dena Kae Beno currently oversees the Hub of the Fraser Valley Community Entity- Service Canada: Reaching Home Secretariat through a tri-partite relationship with Lu’ma Native Housing Society and Vancity Community Foundation. This work includes oversight of the City of Abbotsford’s Social Housing, Homelessness and Community Infrastructure Unit and Abbotsford Homelessness Prevention and Response System.
Dena Kae has 30 years of combined experience in engaging and working with private, government, non-profit and with First Nations and faith communities in Canada, U.S. and South America to foster sustainable cross-sectoral community, built, policy and systems level development to foster healthy and vibrant community outcomes. Dena Kae holds a M.A. in Sociology and Anthropology with a focus on sustainable community development and B.A. in Geography. Both degrees were awarded from Simon Fraser University.

Alina is a Fellow at The School of Public Policy, University of Calgary and serves on the Board of Directors for A Way Home Canada and the Alberta Rural Development Rural Advisory Board on housing and homelessness. Her work on system planning is recognized as a leading practice and often called upon as a model across communities. Her drive and passion for this work are grounded in her lived experience of the social issues she continues to challenge in her professional work.
